Pharmacist (Full-Time) | Clinical Specialist (Carthage Focus)

The Opportunity
We are seeking a Full-Time Pharmacist to join our team, with a primary focus on serving Carthage Area Hospital. You will be a cornerstone of patient care in Jefferson County, spending 3 days per week in Carthage and 2 days at our Claxton campus. This role is designed for a clinician who thrives on variety and high-impact patient outcomes.

Schedule & Setting

• Primary Location: Carthage Area Hospital (3 days/week).
• Secondary Location: Claxton Campus (2 days/week).
• Hours: Day Shift (7:30 AM – 4:00 PM).
• Travel: Reliable transportation required; Mileage is Reimbursed.
• Call: Once-a-month weekend call.

Core Responsibilities

• Carthage-Centric Care: Provide timely compounding, distribution, and clinical monitoring for our local patient population.
• Therapy Optimization: Consult with the healthcare team to ensure the safety and effectiveness of prescribed drug therapies.
• Patient Education: Lead discharge counseling and direct patient teaching to improve long-term health outcomes.
• Regulatory Excellence: Maintain quality assurance and compliance with all healthcare regulatory agencies.

Requirements

• Licensure: Current NYS Pharmacy License & Valid NYS Driver’s License.
• Certification: Current BLS Certification.
• Experience: Hospital experience is heavily preferred. (Retail experience will be considered).
• Decision Making: Ability to make both independent and joint clinical decisions efficiently.

Preferred Specialty Experience

• Cancer Treatment / Oncology
• Dialysis
• Mental Health / Behavioral Health

Pay & Benefits

• Grade 8 Range: $64.07 – $84.89/hour
• Note: Final pay is determined by experience, qualifications, and internal equity.
