About This Position
Position Description: Writes, edits and researches content for Barton Community College websites. Monitors and modifies web information architecture. Manages development of website sections and access with various departments and web editors, utilizing a content management system. Coordinates and provides training for web editors. Assists and supports digital marketing and social networking strategies. Utilizes editorial judgment to develop and publish search-engine-optimized, marketing-focused content related to various education environments that the College serves. Troubleshoots glitches and issues as they arise. Position Responsibilities: 20.00% - Builds custom landing pages for PR & Marketing campaigns, monitors Google Analytics related to those pages. Works with Director and other employees on using statistics to make data-informed marketing decisions. 10.00% - Aids web editors with CMS development, web technologies, graphics and multimedia. Provides training, instruction and guidance as needed. Provide access to content management system for trained users. 10.00% - Create emails for Admissions Department CRM communication flow 15.00% - Performs regular reviews of the College's website to ensure organized information architecture, content accuracy, timeliness, relevance, and style and graphics standards. 10.00% - Coordinates development of website sections with departments using content management system and works with vendors on new developments as the website evolves Writes, edits, and proofreads site content and forms. 5.00% - Problem solves coding matters for page development and display with IT assistance. 10.00% - Tests website ADA compliance, accessibility and functionality from a variety of environments. 15.00% - Design and create Barton public relations materials such as the Annual Community Report, legislative reports, strategic plan documents, and other related materials. 5.00% - Performs other duties as needed or assigned. Expectations: Adequately performs duties in a professional manner. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Experience - Two years to five years of similar or related experience. Education - A Bachelor's degree. Interpersonal Skills - A significant level of trust and diplomacy is required, in addition to normal courtesy and tact. Work involves extensive personal contact with others and/or can be of a personal or sensitive nature. Work may involve motivating or influencing others. Outside contacts become important and fostering sound relationships with other entities (companies and/or individuals) becomes necessary and often requires the ability to influence and/or sell ideas or services to others. Other Skills - Excellent human relations skills including abilities for instruction and demonstration; ability to work with individuals and departments on campus as well as off-campus vendors. Knowledge of information hierarchy, current web technologies, and coding languages, including HTML and CSS. Good organizing, coordinating and project planning skills. Understanding of web editing software, particularly working with content management system. Good writing skills, along with basic computer skills. Software knowledge: desktop publishing, image editing, vector illustration, and web site development helpful. Mature and diverse design skills. Physical Requirements: The work is sedentary. Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to do the work. However, there may be some walking, standing, bending, carrying of light items, driving an automobile, etc. No special physical demands are required to perform the work. Regular exposure to favorable conditions such as those found in a normal office or classroom. Wages/Other:
The salaried rate for this position is $48,306.60 to $53,948.81.
