What The Role Is All About

This is a hands-on, field-based role supporting environmental construction, demolition, remediation, and reclamation projects across Western Canada.

You’ll work alongside experienced crews in active, changing worksites where situational awareness, communication, and teamwork are critical.

Depending on the job and your experience, you may work as:

  • A General Labourer
  • A Torchman
  • Or both

Experience in demolition, remediation, reclamation, or around heavy equipment is a big plus.

What You’ll Be Doing

Day-to-Day on Site

You’ll be part of the crew doing real, physical work, including:

  • Moving materials, tools, and equipment around active worksites
  • Clearing debris near operating equipment to keep everyone safe
  • Setting up and supporting traffic control (signage, barricades, flagging)
  • Spotting equipment and communicating clearly with operators
  • Assisting with water management and site prep
  • Using hand tools and small equipment to keep sites clean and ready
  • Digging test holes, identifying and protecting underground infrastructure
  • Operating small to mid-sized equipment once trained and authorized
  • Doing whatever needs to be done to keep the job moving safely

Torchman Work (When Required)

When torching is part of the job, you will:

  • Cut and dismantle steel, pipe, and metal components using oxy-fuel torches
  • Follow plans and supervisor direction for accurate, controlled cuts
  • Inspect and maintain torching equipment
  • Follow hot work and fire prevention rules
  • Coordinate closely with your crew for safe sequencing

What We’re Looking For

You don’t need to know everything, but you do need the right mindset.

We’re looking for people who:

  • Have experience in environmental construction, demolition, remediation, or reclamation
  • Take safety seriously and follow procedures
  • Show up, work hard, and support their crew and be a team player
  • Can handle physical work in outdoor environments
  • Are willing to travel to project sites across Western Canada

Required Certifications

  • H2S Alive
  • Ground Disturbance Level II
  • WHMIS (GHS)
  • TDG
  • CSTS (or equivalent)
  • Standard First Aid with CPR/AED
  • Valid Class 5 Driver's Licence

Pre-Employment Requirements

  • Criminal record check
  • Fitness-for-duty assessment (50lb lifting requirement)
  • Drug & alcohol screening
  • 5 Year Driver's abstract
  • Participation in company testing and monitoring programs

Compensation

  • Hourly wage dependent on experience and qualifications.
