Job Summary

The Quality Technician I is an entry-level role responsible for supporting basic quality activities under close supervision. This position focuses on learning company procedures, gaining familiarity with inspection tools, and performing routine quality tasks to help ensure products meet customer requirements. The technician follows detailed instructions and works as part of a team to support the effectiveness of the quality management system.

Job Responsibilities

  • Maintain and update calibration records as directed.
  • Assist with scheduling equipment calibrations based on established schedules.
  • Follow templates and instructions to help generate inspection plans and sheets.
  • Support document change requests by following the outlined procedures.
  • Assist with routine preventive maintenance tracking for equipment and work centers.
  • Help prepare and upload standard customer quality documentation to designated portals.
  • Follow procedures to assist in creating inspection documentation, quality alerts, and basic reports.
  • Support the creation of non-conformance reports (NCRs) under guidance for discrepant material or parts.
  • Perform other routine duties as assigned and in accordance with procedures.
Requirements:

Education / Certifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required

Requirements

  • Less than 2 years of experience in a quality, manufacturing, or technical environment preferred.
  • Willingness to learn visual inspection techniques using microscopes.
  • Exposure to or interest in using precision measurement tools such as comparators, height gauges, or video systems.
  • Basic understanding or willingness to learn Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions carefully.
  • Willingness to learn documentation processes and procedures.
  • Basic math and problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
  • Openness to training and feedback.
  • Awareness of safety practices and commitment to safe work behavior.
