OVERVIEW:

Under the supervision of the Director of Early Learning Programs, the Enrollment Specialist will develop and maintain relationships with families and ensure that they receive comprehensive services through their participation in the program.

Comprehensive services include health and social services, disabilities, early childhood education and care services, and a range of parent development training opportunities at the site. Conduct outreach and recruitment activities and implement enrollment procedures for preschool-age children. Prepare and maintain detailed child and family records, in collaboration with site supervisors, and maintain confidentiality of all information required. This is a non-exempt position. -This is a non-union position.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

· Develop and maintain meaningful, productive relationships with families.

· Recruit and enroll families into the program.

· Verify family eligibility calculations and enter in NoHo/Kinder Systems.

· Prepare individual comprehensive service files for each assigned child and family.

· Use a computer and other office equipment to gather, record, retrieve, and disseminate information.

· Update all child and family records as services are provided or acquired.

· Make appropriate referrals to other agencies and follow up on all referrals, acting as an advocate when needed.

· Maintain enrollment throughout the program year through various recruitment strategies.

· Take all necessary steps to ensure full enrolment and a 90% minimum average daily attendance.

· Work in collaboration with other programs' staff and Specialist to monitor, track, and coordinate services for children and parents.

· Collaborate with staff to facilitate children’s transitions.

· Assist with outreach to families and recruitment of infants and children with disabilities into the program.

· Assist in planning parent activities, encourage parent participation in program activities, and obtain feedback from parents regarding the level of satisfaction with the services they receive.

· Assist parents to organize and maintain active parent committees; assist parents to plan and implement activities for themselves; encourage, facilitate, and support parental involvement in all aspects of the State Preschool Program

· Collaborate with Mental Health Specialist (MHS) or refer to specific resource agencies to ensure the health and nutritional needs of children and families are addressed.

· In collaboration with the classroom teacher, implement protocols to follow up on absenteeism.

· Collaborate with the mental health Agencies for resources(s).

· Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements:

EDUCATION:

AA/AS Degree or higher in Human Services, Psychology, Social Services, or A combination of education and experience equivalent to an AA/AS Degree in Human Services, Psychology, Social Services, Health Service, or a closely related field.

EXPERIENCE:

Two years of experience providing direct services to families at a health or social services agency.

LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS

1. Must have good written, verbal, communication and organizational skills.

2. Bilingual English/Spanish, highly desirable.

3. Must become knowledgeable about current CDE childcare and preschool guidelines, including the rules and regulations affecting the families served.

4. Possess or obtain a valid pediatric first aid certificate within 90 days of employment.

5. Knowledge of community resources available within Merced County.

6. Valid California driver’s license, current DMV report, reliable transportation, and proof of minimum California vehicle insurance. Must be able to travel within the community.

7. Criminal background check and fingerprint clearance (Paid by Employer).

8. Pre-employment physical health check and TB clearance (Paid by Employer when conducted by an agency-contracted medical provider).

9. Ability to sit on low chairs (child size), walk, stoop, and squat as needed; be able to lift and carry in excess of 40 pounds regularly, and to stand as much as 85% of scheduled working time.
