Medical Director - Melrose Park, IL/Springfield, IL

Pay = $400/hour (maximum of 20 hours per month)

JOB SUMMARY:

The Medical Director works closely with our Nurse Practitioner and/or the Director of Nursing and the administrative team to implement strategies and enhance student patient care and improve medical practice.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Clinically consults with Hope’s Advanced Practice Nurse or Nurse Practitioner in service best practice delivery at the Hope Health and Wellness Clinic as needed.
2. Provide coordination with outside consultants, ED physicians and in-patient hospitalists as necessary.
3. Assist with linkage for hospital, specialist, or other external medical provider services and results as necessary.
4. Works in conjunction with the executive team to identify innovative ways to provide medical treatment to children of Hope and the community at large.

MARGINAL FUNCTIONS

1. Assumes duty as a mandated reporter.
2. Provides limited emergency consult as needed when not on site.
3. Hope covers malpractice.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Must be able to materially perform the task normally associated with the position. Indoor, office work.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

1. Strong computer skills and background; knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite.
2. Strong attention to detail and organization.

TRAINING, ACADEMIC AND EXPERIENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

1. M.D. Required
2. Certified in the State of Illinois

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

1. Experience working with individuals with intellectual or other developmental disabilities.
