Qualifications:
Required:
- ASN or Nursing Diploma
- 2-3 years of Med/Surg, Telemetry nursing experience
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Proficient computer skills
Preferred:
- National nursing certifications in area of specialty
- BSN or MSN
Certifications and Licenses Required:
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS through American Heart Association upon hire
- Active New Jersey Registered Nurse License or active Compact Registered Nurse License with New Jersey endorsement
Scheduling Requirements:
- Full Time, 40 hours per week
- Evening Shift, 3p-11:30p
- Monday – Friday, every other weekend and holiday rotation may be required based on unit staffing needs
Essential Functions:
- Trinitas Regional Medical Center supports a 38 Bed Medical Surgical Unit with a broad range of patient care needs and often supports some higher-acuity patients.
- The Assistant Director of Patient Care is responsible for compliance monitoring.
- The Assistant Director of Patient Care collaborates with the health access dept and other units regarding bed coordination.
- The Assistant Director of Patient Care provides input regarding objective observations related to staff evaluations; actively works with preceptors and Nurse Manager regarding orientation process and mentoring of new staff.
- The Assistant Director of Patient Care maintains positive relationships with all customers, including employees, physicians, patients, visitors, and guests.
- The Assistant Director of Patient Care utilizes a variety of feedback to improve processes and services to meet and exceed customer needs.
- The Assistant Director of Patient Care uses sound employee relations practices and maintains high levels of visibility and accessibility.
- The Assistant Director of Patient Care follows through on all customer requests and inquiries in a timely fashion.
- The Assistant Director of Patient Care utilizes principles of Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) in all work situations.
- The Assistant Director of Patient Care seeks feedback and recommendations from others to improve quality, processes, and services.
- The Assistant Director of Patient Care contributes to improving quality services and productivity, taking the initiative to continually evaluate one’s work, report problems, suggest solutions, and try new ideas.
- The Assistant Director of Patient Care effectively allocates and schedules resources.
- The Assistant Director of Patient Care is able to project and appropriately staff the unit or department to function effectively according to demand.
- The Assistant Director of Patient Care utilizes both labor and non-labor resources to maximize efficiency and quality.
- The Assistant Director of Patient Care adheres to budgetary guidelines and targets, proactively managing budget variances and their causes.
- The Assistant Director of Patient Care determines priorities and organizes work and time to meet them.
- The Assistant Director of Patient Care follows sound employee retention techniques, including effective selection and interviewing, recognition, fair and timely discipline, and ongoing performance feedback.
