Position Description

Summary:

The Concrete Finisher performs a wide range of tasks including placing, finishing, protecting, and repairing concrete in a safe and efficient manner and according to federal and state heavy highway regulations.

Essential Functions:

  1. 4+ years of experience forming and finishing concrete, preferably in heavy highway/bridge construction
  2. Experienced with riding trowel machines and techniques/methods of finishing flat and super-flat floors
  3. Ability to work off shift hours and overtime as required
  4. Smooths and finishes surfaces of poured concrete floors, walls, slabs, elevated slabs, and sitework
  5. Spread concrete to specified depth and workable consistency
  6. Finishes concrete surfaces using power trowel; rub and patch concrete
  7. Loads, transports, and unloads tools, equipment, and supplies required for each project
  8. Perform minor maintenance and cleaning activities with tools and equipment
  9. Can work in a high production environment with safety top of mind.
  10. Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. High School Diploma or equivalent
  2. Steady work history and attendance record
  3. Strong work ethic and attention to detail
  4. Ability to communicate and work as a team
  5. Ability to listen and follow directions
  6. Excellent housekeeping and organizational skills
  7. Ability to meet the physical demands of the position, including lifting 50 lbs.

  1. Prior construction or field experience preferred
  2. Must have reliable
  3. Effective communication skills and ability to work as a team
  4. Ability to affectively follow specific directions from supervision
  5. Strong focus on safety, quality, and productivity
  6. Ability to meet the physical requirements of the job--lifting/carrying up to 50 pounds; stand, walk on uneven surfaces, manually manipulate, grasp, reach out and above shoulder, climb, kneel, bend, twist, and push/pull
  7. Ability to work a flexible work schedule, including working overtime and weekends as needed
  8. High School Diploma or GED preferred
  9. Must pass drug screen and physical
  10. Must comply with criminal background check
  11. Must comply with I-9 and E-Verify requirements
