Job Summary:
The Strategic Operations Home Infusion Manager is responsible for driving operational performance, process improvement, and growth initiatives within a Vital Care infusion pharmacy location. The role partners with clinical, pharmacy, revenue cycle, and business development teams to optimize infusion operations, patient access, and financial performance.
The ideal candidate brings a strong background in healthcare operations, home infusion services, and process improvement, with the ability to drive strategic initiatives that enhance patient experience, operational performance, and organizational growth.
This position ensures that infusion services, pharmacy operations, and administrative workflows operate efficiently while maintaining regulatory compliance and high patient satisfaction.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Operational Strategy & Performance:
- Lead operational strategy to improve efficiency, scalability, and profitability
- Identify and implement process improvements across pharmacy, nursing, intake, and billing to improve performance.
- Monitor key performance indicators including:
- Patient start-of-care timelines
- Infusion suite utilization
- Revenue cycle performance
- Operational costs
- Develop operational plans aligned with company growth goals.
Cross Department Coordination:
- Collaborate with:
- Pharmacy leadership
- Nursing leadership
- Intake and reimbursement teams
- Business development teams
- Ensure seamless patients onboarding and therapy coordination.
- Resolve operational issues impacting patient access or therapy delivery.
- Foster a culture of accountability, safety, and patient centered service.
- Oversee staffing models, scheduling, training programs, and performance.
Financial & Business Management:
- Monitor P&L performance of the infusion location.
- Identify opportunities to:
- Increase therapy volume
- Improve drug margin
- Reduce operational waste
- Support forecasting and budgeting processes.
Process Improvement & Technology:
- Evaluate workflows and implement lean operational improvements.
- Utilize operational systems such as:
- Pharmacy management systems
- EMR platforms
- Infusion workflow systems
- Support implementation of new technologies or operational initiatives.
Compliance & Quality:
- Ensure compliance with:
- State pharmacy regulations
- CMS and payer requirements
- Accreditation standards (ACHC / URAC / Joint Commission)
- Maintain operational readiness for audits and quality reviews.
Leadership & Team Development:
- Support hiring, training, and development of operational staff.
- Foster collaboration across departments.
- Promote a culture focused on patient outcomes and operational excellence.

Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in: Healthcare Administration, Business, Pharmacy, Nursing or Operations Management.
- 5+ years in Healthcare Operations, Infusion Services, Specialty Pharmacy, or Hospital Outpatient Infusion.
- Preferred Experience: Home Infusion, Specialty Pharmacy Operations, Revenue Cycle Management, or Healthcare Business Analytics.
