About This Position

Description:

This position will execute on projects sold by the Relevant Industrial Sales team. The project manager will be responsible for managing all activities for assigned projects in accordance with the project schedule including directing and coordinating the engineering design team, subcontractor activities in accordance with project/client procedures, scope of work, and contract specifications, etc. The Project Manager will also serve as the primary point of contact with the client for project-related activities.

The Project Manager will also be responsible for administrative tasks, forecasting and planning, risk identification, change order management, billing and payments, field service, project initiation, subcontractor management, resource management and any other components or requirements of the assigned projects.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Manage and direct project teams by providing communication, coordination, and follow-up to meet project goals and objectives; ensure project scope or work schedule and budget are clearly defined and understood.
  • Establish project procedures consistent with contractual documents and quality plans for all engineering work; determine and oversee all project controls, schedule and budgets.
  • Serve as project representative with client, vendors, and sub vendors at kick-off meetings, project review, and other meetings and correspondence.
  • Identify and secure necessary approvals for all changes in project scope, budget, and/or schedule.
  • Develops project objectives by reviewing project proposals and plans; conferring with management and engineering team
  • Determines project responsibilities by identifying project phases and elements; assigning personnel to phases and elements
  • Determines and maintains project schedule by studying project plan and specifications; calculating time requirements; sequencing project elements.
  • Controls project plan by reviewing design, specifications, and plan and schedule changes; and recommending actions.
  • Controls project costs by approving expenditures; administering contractor contracts.
  • Prepares project status reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information and trends; recommending actions.
  • Maintains product and company reputation by complying with federal and state regulations.
  • Communicates with suppliers, operations and other necessary project groups.
  • Develop professional relationships with customers and provide support as necessary
  • Understand the importance of confidential information both from clients and internally and handle it in an appropriate manner at all times
  • Work independently to complete workload assignments; meeting milestones and deadlines
  • Participate in internal kick-off meetings and sales hand-off meetings to ensure that all financial and operational aspects of a project are confirmed, addressed, and processed as required

  • Strong familiarity with project management, methodologies, and best practices
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Detailed problem solving and project execution skills
  • Experience seeing projects through the full life cycle
  • Proven ability to complete projects according to outlined scope, budget, and timeline
  • Strong interpersonal skills and extremely resourceful
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills in both customer service and technical concepts
  • Previous experience with the following:
  • Experience in negotiating and managing contracts.
  • Project Control (scope, schedule, quality, and budget)
  • Developing customers relationships
  • Managing subcontractors
  • P21 Experience helpful
  • Proficiency in MS Office Products, MS Project and Adobe Acrobat is a must
  • A combination of experience and education that meet the minimum requirements may be considered.
