JOB SUMMARY
The Food Services Supervisor works under the supervision of the Nutrition Manager. Does daily planning for dept and supervises the production and service activities of deptartment The Food Service Supervisor provides quality, age-appropriate food service to residents. Supervises food services to Legacy staff, guests, customers, and special events. Administrative duties related to staff include participation as assigned in hiring, training, counseling, scheduling, and evaluation. Administrative duties as assigned related to dept. expense, revenue, accounting and reporting. Assists with procurement of supplies and equipment. Implements programs and supervises NS staff to maintain all dept storage, production, service, and housekeeping is completed according to Federal, State, local, and CCH codes of safety and health.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Reviews and adjusts staffing to meet department activity and guidelines.
- Supervises the department coordinating activities with other Supervisory and clinical personnel.
- Delegates activities to staff based on competency and flow sheets
- Manages order of product and supplies to minimize waste.
- Role models AIDET and Excellence Every Day principles to staff, residents and other departments.
- Seeks out various opportunities to obtain continuing education for themselves and offers experienced outlook to other department members.
- Understand department budget and provides leadership to department to align production activities
- Conduct all working activities with compassion and professionalism while providing services to patients, CCH staff and guests.
- Assists in the implementation of nutrition care plans for residents / residents maintaining and documenting when appropriate in the medical record working with the direction of Registered Dietitian.
- Proactive solution oriented approach to unexpected events in food service processes.
- Completes education to maintain professional certification
- Actively participates in implementation of department Strategic Planning providing feedback appropriately to department leadership.
- Actively participates in Quality monitoring activities within department as delegated by leadership.
- Rotating call as needed for department function
- Maintains competency in roles in department.
- Other duties as assigned
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
- Education
- High school diploma or GED
- Completion of one year dietary manager program recommended
- Licensure
- Certified Dietary Manager’s within 2 years employment
- Experience
- Two years’ supervisory experience in institutional quantity food service with one year in healthcare facility.
