About the Role:
The Warehouse / Yard Lead plays a crucial role in ensuring the efficient operation of warehouse and yard activities. This position is responsible for overseeing daily operations, managing staff, and ensuring that all safety and quality standards are met. Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience in a warehouse or yard environment, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Strong understanding of inventory management and logistics.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate's degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field.
- Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory tracking software.
- Forklift certification or experience operating heavy machinery.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate daily warehouse and yard operations to ensure efficiency and safety.
- Manage and train warehouse staff, providing guidance and support to enhance team performance.
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with procurement to ensure adequate stock is maintained.
- Implement and enforce safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
- Conduct regular inspections of the warehouse and yard to ensure compliance with company standards.
