POSITION SUMMARY

Milestone recognizes the importance of safety and health for the well-being of employees, protection of equipment and property, and overall productivity on the job. At Milestone "we own safety". Safety is everyone's responsibility and must be a priority every day.

Field Safety Specialist responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  1. Ensure that employee concerns are dealt with appropriately and track issues to completion.
  2. Promote health and safety goals and objectives with divisions and employees.
  3. Continuously maintain positive safety influence by recognizing employees who exhibit safe behaviors.
  4. Assist in performing incident investigations, root cause analysis, and incident reviews.
  5. Develop and present health and safety related topics in safety meetings, new hire training, and refresher training.
  6. Demonstrate safe behaviors and coach others to improve overall safety performance.
  7. Evaluate hazardous conditions and practices to develop controls or mitigations as they arise.
  8. Assist with emergency response planning and training.
  9. Maintain knowledge of latest OSHA, MSHA, and other pertinent regulatory rules through ongoing training and seminars.
  10. Develop, review, and update safety programs and policies.
  11. Monitor all worker compensation claims associated with assigned projects.

This is a full-time position located in Amery, WI. Travel will be required.

Position Requirements:
  1. Bachelor’s degree in occupational health and safety or related field.
  2. A combination of education and a minimum of 2 years of experience will be considered.
  3. OSHA and MSHA certification preferred.
  4. Certified in 1st Aid/CPR and/or emergency medical preferred.
  5. Proficient computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite).
  6. Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
  7. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness.
  8. Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
