Psychiatrist at Westchester Medical Center – Valhalla, New York

Responsibilities

We are seeking a well-trained Nurse Practitioner to join our Division of Behavioral Health at Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla, New York. The successful candidate must be Board Certified as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner and have a minimum two years of experience. Candidates must also possess or be able to obtain a NYS License.

The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner will be responsible for determining clients’ diagnosis and psychiatric needs, prescribe the medication to be utilized during the course of treatment, and provide education as well as reviewing the appropriateness of the existing medication regimen through review of the medication record and consultation with the client and staff to prescribe and/or administer medication, including injectable; monitors the effects of the medication on the clients’ mental and physical health. The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner will work collaboratively with the Psychiatrist and treatment team and conduct Psychiatric evaluations, psychiatric updates, health monitoring, smoking cessation, and crisis intervention as needed and required by regulations.
