Professional QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Theater, Drama, Communications, Education, Literature, or a related field, and/or a minimum of three (3) years of relevant professional or instructional experience.

Strong working knowledge of theater, drama, music, and related fine arts disciplines, including performance, production, and technical elements.

Demonstrated ability to work effectively with students of varying ages, abilities, and learning styles.

Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.

Ability to collaborate effectively with faculty, staff, parents, and volunteers.

Music skills (vocal and/or instrumental) are a plus.

Major Production ResponsibilitiesServe as Director of the annual Upper School spring production, providing overall artistic leadership, spiritual mentorship, and technical instruction.

Serve as Director of the annual Lower School production.

Plan, organize, and execute all aspects of theatrical productions, including auditions, rehearsals, blocking, staging, and performances.

Coordinate, train, and oversee support staff and volunteers, including backstage crews, media, sound, and lighting personnel.

Design or oversee the creation of appropriate, engaging, and age-appropriate sets, props, and costumes.

Ensure student safety and proper supervision during all rehearsals and performances.

Ensure immediate and proper cleanup following rehearsals and productions.

Manage, inventory, and ensure the safe storage and maintenance of props, costumes, sets, and other theater-related equipment.

Instructional ResponsibilitiesTeach assigned classes, preferably but not limited to fine arts courses, as directed by the Principals.

Prepare lesson plans and provide instruction consistent with school curriculum standards and a biblical worldview.

Perform the duties of an SHCS teacher as outlined in the staff handbook, including classroom management and consistent implementation of school discipline policies.

Provide emergency classroom coverage for other teachers when necessary.

Participate in staff meetings, professional development, school events, and extracurricular activities as required.
