We are seeking a seasoned Inbound Transportation Manager with a proven track record in inbound freight including international containers. If you thrive working in a fast-paced dynamic retail environment, this role may be a great fit for you. This position is 100% in-office and based in Austin, Texas.
The Inbound Transportation Manager must bring solid transportation experience and exceptional negotiation skills. This role reports directly to the Sr. Director and will works closely with a highly collaborative team. The position requires daily communication with distribution centers, retails stores and keep senior leadership updated on the transportation activity.

Overview:
Responsible for coordinating and scheduling all inbound freight, including international containers. This role oversees the routing, shipping and timely delivery of products to the warehouse while ensuring compliance with shipping and customs requirements. Provide routing and scheduling of all inbound freight and overseas containers. Constantly works to maximize shipping accuracy, on-time delivery, and service-to cost ratios.
Essential Functions
· Scheduling inbound/returns merchandise and materials, including international shipments.
- Coordinate with domestic vendors to route inbound shipments.
- Maintain and update the inbound appointment log.
- Track shipments progress to ensure timely delivery.
- Identify and research cost-savings opportunities for freight and shipping.
- Obtain rate quotes from third-party providers (3PL) and assign carriers accordingly.
- Reconcile carrier manifests with the appointment log to ensure accuracy.
- Provide internal reporting on purchase order shipment status.
- Maintain the international shipping schedule spreadsheet.
- Ensure vendors transmit compliant and accurate shipping documentation.
- Monitor the customs clearance process to ensure timely and accurate entry.
- Maintain and track returns using the designated spreadsheet.
- Utilize knowledge of HTS codes and properly classify products.
- Work with performance standards and KPI’s.
- Manage and coordinate daily shipment and delivery schedules.
- Track and report transportation spend on a bi-weekly basis.
- Take and handle customer service phone calls and help resolve issues.
- Data entry: Create bills of lading, FTS entry with retail amounts and cost.
- Ability to work occasionally weekends.
Qualifications / Basic Requirements
- 3-5 years of experience in supply chain logistics or operations.
- A bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics or related field or equivalent work experience.
- Strong understanding of freight modes, including LTL, FTL and heavy haul.
- Knowledge about full truck load brokerage process.
- Strong experience with international shipping regulations and requirements
- Experienced working in warehouse operations environments.
- Strong data management skills with proficiency in Excel and database maintenance.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Solid ability to multi-task and work in a team environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Professional phone and communication etiquette.
- High sense of urgency, accountability and attention to detail.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while managing both strategic and tactical responsibilities
