Software Applications Developer

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Software Applications Developer in the United States.

In this role, you will design and deliver enterprise-grade applications built on the Appian platform, directly supporting mission-critical operations for a federal client. You will operate at the intersection of technical architecture and hands-on development, translating complex business requirements into scalable, secure, and high-performing solutions. The position involves close collaboration with stakeholders, engineers, and end users to define requirements, build workflows, and ensure seamless system integration. You will also play a key role in optimizing application performance, enforcing development standards, and maintaining system reliability. Beyond development, you will contribute to mentoring team members, driving best practices, and improving adoption through training and documentation. This is a high-impact, remote-friendly opportunity for an experienced Appian professional who thrives in structured yet fast-moving environments.

Accountabilities:
  • Design, develop, and maintain enterprise applications on the Appian platform, including process models, SAIL interfaces, records, and workflows supporting critical business operations
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into detailed technical and functional specifications
  • Integrate Appian with internal systems and third-party services to ensure reliable data flow and system interoperability
  • Develop secure, efficient, and well-documented code aligned with platform standards and organizational guidelines
  • Execute data migration, synchronization, and integrity management across environments and systems
  • Create and run test plans, troubleshoot defects, and ensure application stability and performance throughout the lifecycle
  • Lead or participate in code reviews to ensure high-quality, scalable, and maintainable solutions
  • Provide technical guidance, training, and documentation to support users and IT teams in solution adoption
  • Monitor application health and support ongoing optimization of Appian environments
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
  • 4+ years of hands-on Appian development and customization experience
  • Appian Certified Lead Developer certification required
  • Strong expertise in Appian components including SAIL, process models, Web APIs, RPA, portals, and AI Skills
  • Proficiency in JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and related web technologies
  • Experience with data modeling and relational database concepts
  • Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum development methodologies
  • Experience integrating applications with external systems and APIs
  • Familiarity with migrating applications across environments
  • Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a remote, collaborative environment
  • US citizenship required
