The Warehouse General Manager – Distribution Center reports directly to the President and collaborates closely with the management team, employees, vendors, customers, and cross-functional departments across American Sale. This role embodies and promotes American Sale’s values, culture, and commitment to exceptional customer service.

The General Manager fosters a positive and respectful environment for both customers and associates by building trust, addressing concerns, and resolving issues effectively. They are responsible for managing and coordinating the activities of supervisors and warehouse staff while planning, organizing, and overseeing the efficient receiving, storage, and distribution of all merchandise from vendors and suppliers.

This position ensures seamless day-to-day operations, maintaining safety and efficiency in all logistical processes, and regularly interfaces with external vendors to support company objectives.

Preferred Qualifications

· 3-5 years Distribution warehouse

· Forklift and equipment certification.

· Familiarity with AS400 or similar inventory systems.

  • Experience with automated inventory systems is a Plus

· Maintain consistent attendance and punctuality as scheduled.

Job Duties

· Ensure every customer receives exceptional service by upholding high operational and service standards.

· Maintain consistent and punctual attendance in alignment with the work schedule.

· Oversee the daily operations of the distribution center to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.

· Provide strong leadership and team-building to drive productivity, service excellence, and profitability.

· Manage the performance, productivity, and work quality of all distribution center associates.

· Oversee and support inventory control processes to minimize discrepancies, including executing one physical inventory annually.

· Ensure accurate, timely, and quality storage and delivery of all merchandise.

· Recommend and implement improvements to increase operational efficiency, and communicate changes effectively to staff.

· Promote and reinforce a culture of safety in daily operations.

· Lead and participate in leadership meetings with supervisors and team leads to align on goals and expectations.

· Collaborate with DC staff and stores to expedite and ensure accurate, timely deliveries in and out of the company.

· Proactively identify and implement strategies to maximize productivity and achieve or exceed departmental financial goals (e.g., inventory accuracy, payroll percentages, shrink).

· Equip the team with tools, resources, and coaching to meet service standards and operational objectives.

· Focus on profitability by maintaining strong customer service standards, setting an effective work pace, and delivering measurable results.

· Partner with vendors to negotiate best pricing and strengthen supply chain relationships.

Physical Demands:

· Warehouse setting with occasional outdoor exposure.

· requires frequent standing, bending, lifting (up to 100 lbs.), and climbing.

· Comfortable working at heights up to 34 feet while using lift equipment.

· Potential exposure to chemicals related to pool and spa products.

· Fast-paced pick/pack environment with a focus on safety and efficacies

Schedule & Availability

  • Primarily day shifts, with some weekends and holidays as needed.

Travel:

  • Occasional travel between stores, the Corporate Office
