Job Overview This pivotal position is at the heart of promoting the developmental progress of young children experiencing delays or disabilities. Early intervention specialists play a crucial role in identifying the specific needs of infants and toddlers, collaborating with families, healthcare providers, and educators to create and implement individualized intervention plans. By addressing developmental challenges during a child's formative years, lay the groundwork for improved long-term outcomes in health, education, and overall well-being. Early Intervention Specialist Responsibilities & DutiesConduct developmental assessments and evaluations to identify areas of delay or concern "MDE's"Develop and implement individualized intervention plans based on assessment resultsCollaborate with families to provide education, support, and resourcesWork with other professionals such as speech therapists, occupational therapists, and pediatriciansMonitor and document children's progress toward developmental goalsAdjust intervention strategies as needed based on ongoing assessmentsFacilitate and participate in multidisciplinary team meetingsProvide training and support to caregivers and family membersAdvocate for the needs of children and families within the communityStay current with best practices and research in early childhood interventionEarly Intervention Specialist Qualifications & SkillsMaster's degree in early childhood education, special education, or a related fieldCertification or licensure in early childhood interventionExperience working with children with developmental delays or disabilitiesKnowledge of early childhood development and intervention strategiesStrong communication and collaboration skillsAbility to work effectively with diverse families and communitiesProficiency in using assessment tools and softwareBachelor's degree in early childhood education, special education, or a related field1 year of full-time working directly with preschool children with disabilities and their families Experience in early childhood education or related fieldStrong observational and assessment skillsExcellent interpersonal and communication skillsAbility to develop and implement individualized intervention plansCommitment to ongoing professional developmentKnowledge of relevant laws and regulations governing early intervention servicesunderstanding and skills needed to perform the functions specified in {4226.54(relating to early interventionist responsibilities).must not be excluded from enrolling in Pennsylvania's Promise Systemoriginal child abuse clearance, criminal state clearance, and FBI clearance approving the individual for work with children.Scan to Apply
