Plant Maintenance Supervisor at Hiland Dairy:
- Provides supervision of assigned work groups in ensuring effective selection, retention, and performance management of maintenance employees.
- Makes recommendations to the Plant Maintenance Manager concerning policies, procedures, techniques, facilities, and any other matter relative to the effective operation of the department and company.
- Provides resources and guidance to all maintenance employees as it relates to the maintenance operation (including but not limited to diagnosis and repair of production lines and systems, mechanical and electrical circuitry, prevention of food safety and quality problems, and minor repairs to building and plumbing).
- Helps with labor in the facilities: installs, maintains, and repairs production and manufacturing equipment. Perform Proficient preventative maintenance inspection and service on all production and manufacturing equipment in accordance with manufacturer specifications and company guidelines.
Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, and maintain equipment to the desired company performance standards.
- Interface, troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair electronic computerized systems and equipment
- Utilizing a continuous improvement mindset, assist in identifying opportunities to improve processes.
- Comply with all company work and safety rules and regulatory compliance rules and regulations.
- Use all personal protective equipment in compliance with OSHA regulations.
- Possess the necessary personal tools to perform duties.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Moderate knowledge of and/or experience with PLC.
- Proficient experience with:
- compressors/ammonia systems (e.g., refrigeration systems) & PLC (e.g., industrial maintenance, computer control systems, etc.).
- basic electrical systems (e.g., starters, fuses, contacts, relays, installation, frequency drive).
- electronics (e.g., level probes, flow meters, drives/VFDs, computerized preventative charts/data etc.).
- conveyors (air cylinders, diverters, sensors, motor/speed controls).
- gearing and gear boxes (rebuilds, ordering parts, machining parts).
- hydraulic systems (high-pressure cylinders, pumps, valves).
- kinematics (e.g., line speed/sprocket size ratios, etc.).
- packaging/high-speed production (e.g., bottling, consumer products, etc.).
- pneumatics/air compression (solenoids, cylinders, motor brakes, reading, valves).
- pumps (e.g., replacing seals/motors, understanding specs).
- Must be able to work independently and/or on a team in a fast-paced environment.
Certificates/Licenses/Registrations:
- PLC, HVAC, Ammonia, Refrigeration, or other specialty certifications required
- One year certificate from college or technical school; or five years related experience and/or training in manufacturing equipment maintenance and repair; or equivalent combination of continued education and experience.
- Material Handling Equipment (MHE).
Physical Demand/Working Conditions:
- Must be able to frequently stand, walk, kneel, reach, climb, pull, and bend with a full range of body motion.
- Must be able to routinely lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 75 pounds.
- Must be able to work in an office environment, extended periods in a cold, damp and hot environment.
- Must be able to work in variable weather conditions.
Schedule: 3 days: 6:00am - 6:00pm / 4th day: 4 hour shift with Over Time available / 3 days off
Compensation: $80,000.00 - 85,000.00 per year
