About This Position

GENERAL SUMMARY
- The Supply Chain Technician supports hospital operations by receiving, shipping, and distributing materials and supplies, maintaining supply inventories, and monitoring and entering data into the Hospital Information System. Reports to the Materials Management Supervisor.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Distributes materials and supplies to hospital units and off campus locations.
- Maintains par cart and supply inventory in storeroom and on assigned hospital units; participates in periodic cycle counts and annual physical inventory count.
- Receives shipments from vendors; checks merchandise for accuracy and quantity, noting damages and/or discrepancies.
- Prepares, verifies and enters data into the hospital information system.
- Ensures cleanliness and neatness of the storeroom and other supply chain areas.
- Maintains confidentiality of all materials and items being handled.
- Performs other duties and tasks as assigned.

LICENSES AND/OR CERTIFICATIONS
- None required.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to perform duties at a level typically acquired through completion of a high school diploma or GED.
- Minimum of six months of warehouse/ supply chain experience required.
- Medical Supply experience preferred.
- Basic knowledge of data entry and /or PC training required.
- Interpersonal skills necessary in order to communicate effectively with team members, various levels of management, and internal and external contacts.
- Must be able to operate a cargo van.
- Must meet the insurability policy requirements to drive a CHKD vehicle.
- Must be able to pass the CHKD driving test within 30 days of employment.
- Forklift certification must be obtained within 90 days of hire.

WORKING CONDITIONS
- Warehouse environment with exposure to hot, cold, wet, humid or windy conditions. Ability to lift 50 lbs.
