The Associate Director, IT Project Management is responsible for leading complex, cross‑functional initiatives across IT systems, infrastructure and operations, and enterprise business transformation efforts. This role plays a key part in the development and maturation of the IT Project Management Office (PMO) by applying disciplined delivery practices, improving execution consistency, and enabling portfolio‑level visibility.
In addition to direct project leadership, the Associate Director drives the planning and prioritization activities while ensuring projects are delivered in a manner that supports GxP, SOC 2, SOX, and internal audit readiness. The role partners IT closely with all areas of the business and supports the alignment of Quality, Finance, Facilities, Research, Clinical, CMC with external vendors to translate strategic objectives into well‑executed, sustainable outcomes.
Key Position Responsibilities
- Lead end‑to‑end delivery oftimelyIT initiativesalignedwithobjectivesacrossenterpriseand businessapplications,infrastructureandcloud platforms, cybersecurityand risk management, and operational systems.
- Develop andmaintainproject charters, schedules, budgets, resource plans, RAID logs, and formal status reporting.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate project‑related risks; escalate issues with clear impact and remediation options.
- Project Managetechnology‑enabled business transformation initiatives that improve scalability, efficiency, and operational controlover varying complexity and risk profiles.
- PMO Development & Governance
- Support the continued development of the PMO in IT through standards, methodologies, templates, and reporting practices, applying consistent PM discipline to improve execution predictabilityand transparency.
- Maintain portfolio level visibility into project status, dependencies, risks, and capacity constraints.
- Support annual planning, roadmap development, and prioritization discussions in partnership with IT leadership.
- Stakeholder & Vendor Management
- Facilitate project meetings, working sessions, and executive‑level status updates.
- Manage vendor engagements, including SOW development, milestone tracking, and deliverable acceptancewhile ensuring adherence toSolid Biosciences’ security, quality, and compliance expectations.
- Continuous Improvement & Team Enablement
- Contribute to the evolution of IT delivery maturity through improved governance, reporting, and execution practices.
- Mentor junior project managers or project coordinators, as applicable.
- Identify opportunities to improve delivery efficiency, risk management, and cross‑functional collaboration.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in information systems, Engineering, Life Sciences, Business, ora relatedfield.
- Minimum of eight (8) years of progressive project management experience in a regulated environment (biotechnology, pharmaceutical, life sciences).
- Demonstrated experience delivering IT systems, infrastructure, and enterprise technology initiatives.
- Experience supporting business transformation, operational improvement, or enterprise enablement programs.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong understanding of Enterprise Applications, IT systems, infrastructure, and operational service models.
- Working knowledge of GxP concepts, validation principles, and regulated documentation practices.
- Familiarity with SOC 2, SOX IT controls, and audit‑ready delivery expectations.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including executive‑level reporting.
- Ability to manage ambiguity and drive clarity in complex environments.
- Proven ability to lead cross‑functional teams without direct authority.
Preferred Certifications
- PMP or equivalent project management certification.
- ITIL, or Agile, certifications preferred.
Compensation
The base compensation range for this role is: $150,000.00 - 215,000.00
Base salary offered is determined through an internal analysis utilizing a combination of factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills & experience, job location, and internal equity.
Regular employees are eligible to receive both short-term and long-term incentives, including cash bonus and equity incentive opportunities, designed to reward individual performance and align incentives to Solid’s long term company performance.
