About This Position
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Line Cook to join our culinary team at Meridians Restaurant as a part of Sun City Lincoln Hills Community Association. In this role, you will prepare and cook a variety of menu items while adhering to established portion, presentation, and sanitation standards. Responsibilities include setting up and maintaining prep and service stations, cooking with a range of techniques, ensuring timely and consistent food quality, and coordinating with other kitchen staff to support smooth service. You will also assist with prep work, equipment operation, inventory awareness, and proper storage of food items, while following all state and local health and safety regulations. Maintaining a clean and organized workspace— including stations, floors, equipment, and refrigeration units— is essential, as is clear communication with chefs and front of house staff.
The ideal candidate has strong basic cooking and knife skills, familiarity with commercial kitchen equipment, and the ability to work efficiently during busy service periods. A food handler’s card is preferred, and CPR/AED/First Aid certification is a plus. This position requires physical stamina, the ability to lift up to 50 lbs., and comfort working in both indoor and outdoor environments with varying temperatures. Applicants should be able to multitask, adapt to interruptions, and maintain professionalism and focus in a fast paced, sometimes high pressure environment. Weekends, holidays, and extended-hour availability may be required depending on business needs.
Required Qualifications
-High school diploma or equivalent
-Must be able to read, write, speak and comprehend English
-Minimum 1 year of experience in a restaurant kitchen or
-2+ years of culinary school training
Benefits
We offer a comprehensive benefits package that includes access to a robust Employee Assistance Program through NexGen EAP, providing counseling, mental health support, financial advising, and more. Employees can participate in a 401(k)-retirement plan after 30 days, with employer matching up to 4% beginning after one year. Additional benefits include a Flexible Spending Account, up to nine paid company holidays per year (based on schedule), and sick leave accrued at one hour for every 30 hours worked, up to a maximum of 80 hours.
