About This Position
Job Summary:
The Receptionist will provide administrative and general office support for CNY ON-RAMP. This position will provide daily coverage of the front reception area, answer phones and assist with directing trainees. The Receptionist will primarily support office communication and manage key operational tasks.
ON-RAMP is a workforce development training organization supported by CenterState CEO as part of a statewide initiative to train Central New York residents in advanced manufacturing, construction and adjacent industries.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities: (Additional duties may be assigned)
- Responsible for the front reception desk and serving as an ambassador for ON-RAMP.
- Responsible for answering phones.
- Provide clerical support to ensure efficient operation of the office.
- Coordinate with team members at various levels to accomplish daily tasks.
- Open, scan and distribute mail.
- Coordinate resource logistics.
- Assist in the creation of program materials.
- Assist in coordination of events and activities.
- Coordinate building and maintenance vendors and issues.
- Monitor and order inventory building supplies.
- Coordinate daily trainee sign-in for programs.
- Receive and log delivery packages as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
- Temp to Hire
- Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–5:00 PM, approximately 40 hours per week
Travel
- Occasional travel may be required for off-site meetings, conferences and trainings, and site or partner visits
Minimum Required Education and Experience:
- Prior administrative experience.
- Familiarity with pre-apprenticeship or apprenticeship programs.
Special Requirements:
- Valid New York State driver’s license.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Comfortable with an active office environment.
- Strong organizational, time-management, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to establish positive relationships with trainees.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Physical and Mental Requirements:
- Close mental and visual attention required to perform work, verbal communication, using a computer terminal, and/or extensive reading.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 20 pounds and push and/or pull up to 20-pound loads at a time relative to event-based equipment.
Work Environment:
This position operates in a professional office environment with regular use of general office equipment.
