Job Title: CNC Equipment Operator (Plasma & Fabrication)
Location: Cocoa Beach, Florida
Employment Type: Contract-to-Hire
Compensation: Up to $27/hour, based on experience
Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled CNC Equipment Operator to support fabrication operations in a fast-paced production environment. This role involves working with CNC plasma machinery and related cutting equipment to produce high-quality components that meet precise specifications.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and experienced in machine setup, measurement, and material handling.
- Set up and adjust CNC machines to ensure efficient and accurate production
- Verify material dimensions and specifications prior to processing
- Select appropriate materials, including correct type, size, and stock
- Mark or transfer layout and design data onto raw materials as needed
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workspace
- Document daily production output and track material usage accurately
- Perform routine machine maintenance and assist with troubleshooting equipment issues
- Experience operating CNC plasma tables or similar cutting equipment (sawing, drilling, cutting)
- Ability to accurately read a tape measure to within 1/16 inch
- Basic math skills for measurements and calculations
- Ability to remain on your feet for extended periods
- Comfortable working in varying temperature conditions (hot and cold environments)
- Ability to safely operate overhead cranes and material handling/conveyor systems
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, including symbols and technical notes
- Experience with Tekla PowerFab or similar fabrication software
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Commitment to workplace safety
- Dependable and able to work independently or as part of a team
- Willingness to learn and grow within a manufacturing environment
