About This Position
Position Summary
A Pile Driver / Rigger is responsible for performing pile driving operations and rigging activities to support deep foundation and structural construction projects. This role involves safely lifting, positioning, and securing heavy materials while assisting in the installation of piles as directed by the Foreman or Superintendent.
Responsibilities:
Comply with (and actively promote) all Safety policies and procedures, including reporting all accidents, incidents, and near misses.
Perform pile driving operations including positioning, aligning, and driving piles to specified depths.
Execute rigging duties such as selecting, inspecting, and using rigging equipment for lifting heavy loads.
Signal crane operators and coordinate lifts safely and efficiently.
Assist with the setup, operation, and breakdown of pile driving equipment.
Inspect and maintain rigging gear, tools, and equipment to ensure safe operation.
Follow load charts, rigging plans, and lift procedures.
Ensure jobsite cleanliness and proper storage of tools and equipment at the end of each shift.
Assist Foreman with planning work activities and identifying equipment and labor needs.
Adhere to all company safety programs and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in pile driving and rigging operations.
Knowledge of crane operations, rigging practices, and load calculations.
Experience working with pile driving equipment and deep foundation systems.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, rigging plans, and load charts.
Familiarity with hand and power tools used in heavy construction.
Valid driver’s license required.
OSHA 10 certification required (OSHA 30 preferred).
