This role plays a critical part in supporting patient access to therapies by bridging the gap between healthcare providers, patients, insurers, and support programs. You will work closely with physicians and clinic teams to ensure smooth onboarding of patients into assistance programs, helping navigate reimbursement pathways and reducing barriers to treatment access. The position combines clinical understanding, case coordination, and stakeholder management in a fast-paced healthcare environment. You will act as a trusted liaison in the field, ensuring timely coordination of care, coverage, and drug delivery processes. Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills are essential as you manage multiple patient cases and provider relationships simultaneously. This is a highly impactful role focused on improving patient outcomes and supporting access to life-changing treatments.
- Coordinate patient enrollment into support programs by working with physicians, clinics, and healthcare stakeholders to ensure accurate and complete documentation.
- Assist in preparing reimbursement and payer forms, reviewing patient histories, and identifying coverage options across public and private systems.
- Support patients through reimbursement navigation, financial assistance programs, and therapy access coordination, ensuring timely treatment initiation.
- Act as a field liaison between physicians, pharmaceutical partners, insurers, and internal program teams to resolve access and coverage issues.
- Provide education and training to healthcare providers on program processes, updates, and new initiatives.
- Monitor patient progress within support programs, ensuring proper tracking, reporting, and adherence to program KPIs.
- Report adverse events following established protocols and maintain compliance with regulatory and program requirements.
- Participate in meetings with pharmaceutical representatives and contribute insights from field observations to improve program delivery.
- Bachelor’s degree in healthcare, nursing diploma, or related discipline.
- Active registration as a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN/RPN) in the province of employment.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in healthcare, pharmaceutical, insurance, or related sectors.
- At least 3 years of clinical nursing or case management experience preferred.
- Strong understanding of reimbursement systems, insurance processes, and special authorization or appeals procedures.
- Experience in patient support programs and field-based case coordination is highly valued.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret healthcare regulations and policies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to manage relationships with patients, providers, and stakeholders.
- Ability to travel within assigned territory and work flexible schedules, including on-call responsibilities when required.
- Valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation.
