EMEA BD Lead

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a EMEA BD Lead in Switzerland.

This is a senior commercial and ecosystem-building role focused on scaling institutional adoption and liquidity across European financial markets. You will operate at the intersection of traditional finance and cutting-edge market infrastructure, driving both the supply and demand sides of a high-performance data network. Acting as a key connector between institutional trading firms, market makers, exchanges, and sophisticated data consumers, you will help expand a next-generation financial data ecosystem. The role requires deep credibility in capital markets, strong relationship-building capabilities, and the ability to engage confidently with both technical and executive-level stakeholders. You will be responsible for shaping strategic partnerships that directly influence market data distribution and adoption at scale. The environment is fast-moving, global, and highly technical, blending startup agility with institutional-grade expectations. This is a high-impact position where your network, market expertise, and commercial execution will directly shape regional growth.

Accountabilities:
  • Drive the supply side of the network by identifying, engaging, and onboarding market makers, trading firms, and financial institutions contributing high-quality market data.
  • Build and expand strategic partnerships with exchanges, liquidity providers, and institutional market participants across EMEA.
  • Lead the demand-side growth of institutional adoption for premium data products, engaging hedge funds, asset managers, and trading firms.
  • Communicate complex technical and commercial value propositions to sophisticated institutional buyers and stakeholders.
  • Manage high-touch relationships with key partners, ensuring long-term retention and expansion of strategic accounts.
  • Collaborate with product and engineering teams to relay market feedback and influence product roadmap priorities.
  • Represent the organization at major industry events and maintain strong awareness of competitive and market dynamics.
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of experience in Business Development, Institutional Sales, Prime Brokerage, or similar roles within finance or fintech.
  • Strong institutional background, ideally including experience at Tier-1 banks, prime brokers, or major financial institutions.
  • Proven track record of building and managing relationships with market makers, exchanges, and institutional trading desks.
  • Strong understanding of financial markets, institutional trading workflows, and European market structure.
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts such as APIs, latency, infrastructure, and data systems to both technical and executive audiences.
  • Established network within institutional finance or capital markets is highly desirable.
  • Strong commercial acumen, negotiation skills, and ability to operate in complex, multi-stakeholder environments.
  • Excellent English communication skills with confidence in client-facing and executive-level discussions.
  • Nice to have: experience in market data sales, quantitative trading, or electronic trading environments.
