ServiceNow Senior Software Engineer - ITOM

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a ServiceNow Senior Software Engineer with ITOM in India.

This role is focused on designing, developing, and optimizing ServiceNow solutions within complex enterprise environments, with a strong emphasis on IT Operations Management (ITOM). You will play a key role in building scalable integrations, enhancing CMDB and Discovery capabilities, and ensuring seamless data flow across multiple systems. Working closely with technical stakeholders, architects, and end-users, you will translate business requirements into robust technical solutions that improve operational efficiency. The position involves both hands-on development and technical leadership, including mentoring junior engineers and guiding best practices. You will contribute to large-scale ServiceNow implementations, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture standards and platform governance. This is a highly collaborative role within a fast-evolving ServiceNow ecosystem, where innovation, automation, and continuous improvement are central.

Accountabilities:

In this role, you will lead the development and enhancement of ServiceNow ITOM capabilities while ensuring high-quality delivery of complex integrations and platform solutions.

  • Design, develop, and implement ServiceNow ITOM solutions including CMDB, Discovery, and Service Mapping
  • Build and maintain integrations between ServiceNow and external systems using REST, SOAP, MID servers, and cloud-to-cloud interfaces
  • Develop and customize ServiceNow applications using scripting, business rules, client scripts, and Scripted REST APIs
  • Translate business requirements into technical designs and scalable ServiceNow solutions
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, validate technical approaches, and ensure solution alignment
  • Support impact analysis, service mapping validation, and event management configuration
  • Participate in testing activities including user acceptance testing and production validation
  • Remediate production incidents and ensure platform stability and performance
  • Maintain technical documentation, SOPs, and update sets to support operational continuity
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers while promoting best practices and coding standards

Requirements:
The ideal candidate brings strong ServiceNow expertise, particularly in ITOM, along with solid integration and development experience in enterprise environments.

  • 4+ years of hands-on experience in ServiceNow implementation, configuration, or development
  • Strong expertise in ITOM modules including CMDB, Discovery, and Mid Server architecture
  • Experience designing and implementing integrations using REST, SOAP, ETL, JDBC, or ODBC
  • Strong knowledge of ServiceNow scripting (Business Rules, Client Scripts, Script Includes, Scripted REST APIs)
  • Experience with Flow Designer, Service Mapping, and Event Management
  • Ability to create technical design documentation and support end-user documentation
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
  • Experience working in large-scale enterprise or multi-system environments
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work with technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent experience
  • ServiceNow certifications such as CSA, CAD, and ITIL Foundation (preferred)
