About This Position
Indian Rocks Christian School (IRCS) is seeking a dedicated and passionate Christian educator to teach high school Physics, including AP Physics I and AP Physics II, while also serving as the STEM Coordinator across the Upper School, supporting and facilitating STEM enrichment opportunities. The ideal candidate will have a heart for Christ-centered education and a commitment to teaching from a biblical worldview, inspiring students academically, spiritually, and through innovative STEM experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
Instruction & Curriculum
- Teach high school Physics courses, including AP Physics I and AP Physics II, fostering critical thinking, problem-solving, scientific inquiry, and a passion for learning through a biblical perspective.
- Develop and implement engaging, rigorous lesson plans aligned with the school’s curriculum, College Board standards, and a biblical worldview.
- Prepare students for AP assessments through data-driven instruction, lab-based learning, and conceptual mastery.
- Integrate biblical principles into classroom instruction, discussions, and activities to encourage spiritual growth and character development.
STEM Coordination & Enrichment (Upper School)
- Coordinate and support STEM enrichment opportunities across the Upper School, including clubs, competitions, projects, and interdisciplinary initiatives.
- Organize and facilitate Upper School STEM clubs (e.g., robotics, engineering, coding, or innovation clubs).
- Collaborate with Upper School faculty to encourage STEM integration across departments.
- Assist in connecting with community partners, guest speakers, and experiential learning opportunities related to STEM.
- Support the development and implementation of hands-on, project-based STEM experiences for Upper School students.
Professional Collaboration
- Collaborate with colleagues and administration to support student growth, academic achievement, and spiritual formation.
- Actively participate in school events, professional development, and community activities as part of the IRCS team.
- Serve as a resource and point of contact for Upper School STEM-related activities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Physics, Science Education, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Willingness to become AP certified if certification has not been completed.
- Demonstrated experience teaching high school Physics, including AP-level coursework.
- Experience or strong interest in STEM coordination, clubs, or project-based learning.
- Strong commitment to Christian values, spiritual discipleship, and the mission of Indian Rocks Christian School.
- A collaborative and supportive team member who exemplifies humility, flexibility, emotional intelligence, positivity, and commitment to the IRCS vision and mission.
Church Membership & Lifestyle Expectations
- Must give testimony and evidence of a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and sense the call of God to a serving ministry.
- Demonstrate a consistent Christian lifestyle as referenced by the Mission, Statement of Faith, and Leadership Guidelines of Indian Rocks
- Must become an active member of Indian Rocks as defined by: regular attendance in worship services, regular attendance/involvement in an Indian Rocks Connection Group or Small Group, commitment to systematic stewardship and faithful tithing.
