This role combines strategic leadership and hands-on clinical practice in virtual cardiometabolic care, providing expert oversight and delivering direct patient care in a digital health environment. The Medical Director will shape clinical care models, translate population health insights into actionable interventions, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to improve outcomes for patients with cardiometabolic conditions. This position requires a physician with deep clinical expertise, experience in virtual care, and the ability to drive innovation in clinical programs while maintaining the highest standards of patient safety and quality. The role includes occasional client-facing interactions, strategic program guidance, and participation in research and educational initiatives, all within a fully remote, collaborative, and high-performance environment.
- Deliver direct (patient-facing) and indirect (provider-to-provider) virtual cardiometabolic specialty care.
- Provide clinical oversight for cardiometabolic health programs, ensuring safe, effective, and guideline-aligned care.
- Collaborate with clinical and cross-functional teams to design, pilot, and scale integrated care models.
- Translate population health and risk stratification data into actionable care pathways.
- Support internal teams with clinical expertise for presentations, client discussions, and program development.
- Represent the program externally on topics related to cardiometabolic care and chronic condition management.
- Partner with clinical research teams to generate evidence for publications and program outcomes.
Requirements:
- MD/DO with fellowship training in Endocrinology or Cardiology focused on cardiometabolic conditions; active medical license required.
- 3+ years of post-fellowship direct patient care experience.
- Proven experience in virtual care, digital health, or healthcare technology settings.
- Expertise in clinical care model design, quality improvement, and outcomes measurement.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex clinical concepts to non-clinical audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate across clinical and non-clinical teams in a matrixed environment.
- Strong organizational, time management, and prioritization skills; able to thrive in fast-paced environments.
- Preferred: experience in value-based care, virtual care delivery, and managing cardiometabolic programs in digital health organizations.
