Registered Nurse- Vascular Lab at Cookeville Regional Medical Center – Cookeville, Tennessee

The Registered Nurse is responsible for providing professional nursing care utilizing the nursing process within an assigned unit; assesses, treats and care for patients demonstrating an understanding of the cognitive, physical, emotional and chronological maturation process; coordinates care planning with other disciplines. This position is responsible for meeting the need of each patient and performing duties requiring advanced training and experience as related to the vascular lab and meeting the needs of the vascular patient wherever possible. The nurse will assist the physician as a scrub assistant, procedure circulator and recorder. The nurse must have a working knowledge of diagnoses, medications used in the vascular lab and in emergency situations. The nurse must have a working knowledge of sterile technique and assist the physician in the vascular lab and where ever needed. The nurse is responsible for administration of IV conscious sedation, monitoring patients and may be needed to assist the physician and/or radiology technologist wherever possible during invasive procedures. The nurse must participate in quality improvement and the educational development of self and others. The nurse will function as a patient advocate and promotes good community relations for the vascular lab and CRMC while maintaining patient confidentiality.

Education: Associates of Nursing required, Bachelors preferred

Certification & Licensures: Registered Nurse required

Experience: 1 to 3 years of acute experience preferred
