Department Overview
The mission of the Information Technology Group (ITG) is to develop, implement and maintain technology-based services and solutions enabling OHSU to effectively manage information to accomplish its missions.
This position will be part of a dynamic, energetic and highly collaborative team that supports the organization in the use of data and information to further OHSU's mission to strive for excellence in education, research and scholarship, clinical practice and community service. Members of the Business Intelligence and Advanced Analytics (BIAA) team work to apply knowledge and best practices to develop, analyze, implement, maintain, and assist end users in leveraging applications and BI Tools (Power BI, Cognos, Tableau, etc.) to analyze enterprise data for informed decision making throughout the organization.
Function/Duties of PositionSystem Analysis, Design, and Development
- Conducts analysis that identifies current business process and identifies system inadequacies.
- Analyzes applications and systems to identify opportunities for simplification and enhancement.
- Analyzes requirements and design solutions to meet customer needs.
- Consults with users to identify and document workflow issues, output needs and to determine overall functional and technical system requirements and specifications.
- Supports and may lead new business process implementations.
- Collaborates with developers to design and develop enhancements and interfaces for software applications. Performs unit and integration testing, troubleshoots production issues and provides user support.
- Develops plans to correct problems that may include modifications to user procedures, user data entry instructions, user training, and/or database correction proposals.
- Use the knowledge gained by working with business partners and through prior experience to analyze enterprise applications including CANDID, Oracle EBS, Epic and Banner in order to meet application and reporting requirements.
Systems Support
- Triage and address issues as they arise based on customer incidents and change requests.
- Works with application technical support to facilitate the timely resolution of Service Requests.
- Facilitates user testing for all impacted systems as a result of approved process and system reporting changes.
- Translates technical specifications and requirements into informative, user-friendly test plans for end-user acceptance testing.
- Communicates impact of business process changes to management and client groups.
- Coordinates the escalation and resolution of software processing problems with other ITG and vendor support specialists.
Project Coordination
- Provides level of effort estimates to support resources planning.
- Facilitate and collaborate work planning for CANDID Application with technical teams, including CANDID Analytics and the Financial, Supply Chain, and Facilities Applications (FSCA) team.
- Develop plans and collaborate with development teams for complex information technology projects as assigned.
- Monitor project execution and provide project updates.
- Works with the CANDID and FSCA leadership to define and track development roadmap.
- Contributes to the development and maintenance of project tracking tools including enhancement and defect tracking lists, maintenance logs, system upgrades and triage calendars.
- Collaborates with key stakeholders across the organization, including facilitating meetings, tracking deliverables, and reporting progress.

Required Qualifications
Education and Experience
Master’s degree in computer science, a related field, or a clinical field and four years' work related experience in the information technology field or a combination of clinical or operational healthcare environments; OR
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, a related field, or a clinical field and six years' work related experience in the information technology field or a combination of clinical or operational healthcare environments; OR
Associate’s degree in computer science, a related field, or a clinical field and seven years' work-related experience in the information technology field or a combination of clinical or operational healthcare environments; OR
Eight years work related experience in the information technology field or a combination of clinical or operational healthcare environments; OR
Equivalent combination of education and experience where one year of experience will be substituted for an Associate’s degree and two years of experience will be substituted for a Bachelor’s degree.
Minimum three years of business analyst experience.
Experience leading requirements gathering sessions and documenting associated business requirements for large-scale IT projects.
Experience planning and managing large-scale IT projects.
- Experience gathering requirements, design, and development using APEX, Cognos, Oracle, Power BI or other BI tools and applications.
- Experience as an analyst/developer working with Oracle tools, including ADI, OAF, Discoverer, Apex, SOA, JDeveloper and PL/SQL.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Knowledge of data warehousing architecture.
- Knowledge of Oracle EBS or other ERP financial data, related databases, and business processes, including a foundational understanding of applicable Oracle EBS modules such as compensation, HR, and Payroll, as they are used and integrated within the CANDID application to support associated business models and workflows.
- Proven communication, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects on an ongoing basis with excellent attention to detail.
- Demonstrate skilled problem-solving capabilities to determine solutions and options to resolve problems.
- Ability to read, write and maintain basic SQL code.
- Experience conducting formal testing and validation efforts including writing test plans, executing test scripts and documenting results.
- Knowledge of BI tool fundamentals and/or data warehousing architecture.
- Experience building functional prototypes as part of solution design.
- Excellent presentation/facilitation/training skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience building functional prototypes in APEX as part of solution design.
- Creating wireframes or mockups.
- Mapping requirements to APEX features and data structures.
- Software design experience for custom integrated software solutions.

This is a remote role with a Monday - Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm shift.
