Reporting to the Senior Manager, Procurement & Vendor Strategy, this role drives cost savings, manages vendor relationships, and upholds procurement excellence across the organization.

This role is designed for a seasoned procurement professional who brings deep commercial acumen, strong analytical skills, and a track record of independently driving procurement outcomes in a fast-paced environment. The Senior Procurement Specialist will also serve as a key contributor to shaping procurement policy, process improvements, and strategic sourcing practices at Achievers.

Please note that this is a hybrid Toronto-based role with 2 days per week in our Liberty Village office.

Why you`ll love this role:
  • Join our Marketplace Operations team which supports the rewards component of the Achievers platform, the global reward suppliers that serve as the backbone to it, and the customers we strive to please.
  • We have great brand positioning in the market with the opportunity to further grow our global Marketplace and drive continued adoption across customers.
  • We are at a pivotal accelerated growth stage - the perfect time to join our team!
  • Work with an empowering leader and enjoy autonomy, trust, and ownership in your work.
  • We are passionate about fostering an environment of connection, security, and community - you’ll feel at home, without reservation.
  • We believe in moving quickly, failing fast, and adapting to change.
  • We’re committed to achieving excellence in everything we do.
How you'll contribute to our Procurement function:

Strategic Sourcing & Procurement Operations

  • Lead end-to-end procurement processes within defined spend thresholds, including sourcing, vendor evaluation and selection, contract negotiation, and onboarding, leveraging procurement tools (e.g., ZIP) for workflow efficiency.
  • Drive cost savings and risk reduction by securing favorable pricing, commercial terms, and contractual protections.
  • Manage procurement across diverse categories including technology, SaaS, marketing, sales enablement, security, professional services, and corporate services.
  • Contribute to OPEX budget management; conduct category spend analysis and identify opportunities for cost optimization, consolidation, and vendor rationalization.

Vendor Relationship Management

  • Foster and maintain strong, strategic vendor relationships to support long-term, mutually beneficial partnerships.
  • Serve as a trusted point of contact for vendors throughout the procurement lifecycle and post-contract.
  • Manage vendor performance, address issues proactively, and ensure contractual compliance and service level adherence.
  • Support vendor risk assessments, due diligence activities, and compliance monitoring in partnership with Legal and Information Security.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with teams including IT, Product, Engineering, Marketing, Legal, Finance, and Information Security to align procurement strategies with organizational goals and compliance requirements.
  • Serve as a trusted procurement advisor to internal stakeholders, guiding them through the sourcing process and ensuring procurement best practices are followed.
  • Play an active role in shaping and promoting the procurement function and its value within Achievers.

Performance, Reporting & Process Improvement

  • Track and report on key procurement metrics including negotiated savings, software budget run-rate reduction, procurement cycle time, category spend analysis, total addressable spend, and procurement ROI.
  • Develop and maintain accurate procurement records, reporting dashboards, and documentation.
  • Identify, recommend, and implement process improvements within the procurement function to drive efficiency and scalability.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of procurement policy documentation, ensuring adherence across the organization.
  • Resolve AP/payment issues and ensure accurate and timely processing in coordination with Finance.
Experience we feel will set you up for success:
  • 5+ years of experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, vendor management, or a related field specifically in IT.
  • Commercial and negotiation acumen: comfortable negotiating contracts, understanding of contract terms and conditions, including legal and compliance considerations across a range of categories including IT, SaaS, and professional services.
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills: proficient in spend analysis, reporting, and data-driven decision-making.
  • A self-starter attitude: you can manage multiple priorities and deliver results in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Clear, thoughtful communicator with strong interpersonal skills and ability to build trust and influence through collaboration with internal stakeholders (Marketing, Legal, Finance, Corporate Services) and external vendors.
  • Operational excellence mindset, experience identifying inefficiencies and improving processes.
  • Strong documentation and reporting skills with a passion for process adherence and follow-through.
  • High ethical standards with a commitment to transparent, compliant procurement practices.
  • Experience with procurement and financial systems such as ZIPHQ, ERP platforms, and ticketing tools.
