Responsibilities
- Responsible for reviewing and coordinating non-emergent medical transportation requests for patients leaving the hospital as well as acute patient transport within the hospital system.
- Works closely with various stakeholders (internal and external) to coordinate transportation logistics and prioritize patient needs.
- Operating within our 24/7 lean department, you will be an integral part of our continuous improvement efforts, identifying opportunities to streamline transportation processes and enhance operational efficiency.
- Your proactive approach to problem-solving and your commitment to excellence will contribute to our overarching goal of delivering exceptional patient care.
Qualifications
Education:
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Associate’s degree in healthcare administration, business, behavioral health, social services or a related field preferred.
Experience:
- Two years of healthcare work environment experience required.
Skills:
- Strong organizational skills
- Knowledge of community resources and the social service delivery system
- Excellent organization, oral, and written communication skills for effective interaction with various stakeholders
- Ability to foster communication and build relationships among the treatment team
- Excellent time management skills
- Computer literate and ability to utilize Microsoft programs and Electronic Medical Records System (Epic)
- Data management
- Initiate coordination
- Investigate and create new transportation pathways.
