Credit Analyst II at American Community Bank & Trust – Crystal Lake, Illinois

American Community Bank & Trust (ACBT), the largest locally owned bank in McHenry County, is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical professional to join our team as a Credit Analyst II. In this role, you'll have the opportunity to work directly with commercial lenders on the credit application and review process. This role will be responsible for conducting credit analysis for new and existing commercial client relationships. What You'll Do:

• Conduct credit analysis, verifications, and financial-statement reviews to support lending decisions and protect the bank from credit losses.
• Collaborate with lenders to prepare clear, well-supported credit presentations for new and existing relationships.
• Perform periodic and transaction-driven reviews: analyze financials, assess collateral, verify covenant compliance, calculate borrowing bases, review payment history, and update risk ratings in light of industry/economic changes.
• Review real estate appraisals and produce internal valuation assessments.
• Ensure consistent application of loan policy, credit risk-rating methodology, and regulatory requirements; provide guidance to lenders on standards and procedures.
• Support the bank’s loan compliance program and maintain the integrity of the Loan Origination System.
• Stay up to date on bank policies and applicable regulations and ensure ongoing compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
• A minimum of three (3) years’ commercial underwriting experience preferred

Skills

• Strong oral and written communication.
• Proven commercial credit analysis experience.
• Maintain strict confidentiality of client information.
• Sound judgment with strong problem-solving and decision-making.
• Deliver accurate, timely, high-quality reporting.
• Working knowledge of loan documents and credit agreements.
