About the Role:

The Tender Truck Driver plays a critical role in supporting agricultural operations by safely transporting water, fuel, and other essential liquids to various locations on farms and field sites. This position ensures that agricultural machinery and applicators receive timely and adequate supplies, directly impacting productivity and operational efficiency. The driver must adhere strictly to agricultural standards and safety protocols to prevent contamination and accidents, maintaining the integrity of the transported materials. Working closely with managers and equipment operators, the Tender Truck Driver helps to coordinate delivery schedules and responds promptly to urgent needs. Ultimately, this role contributes to the smooth functioning of agricultural activities by providing reliable and safe tender truck services across diverse terrains and conditions within the United States.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) appropriate for operating tender trucks.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of agricultural standards and safety practices related to transporting liquids.
  • Proven experience operating heavy vehicles in agricultural, forestry, or similar environments.
  • Ability to perform routine vehicle inspections and basic maintenance checks.
  • Strong understanding of safety protocols to prevent accidents and contamination.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with GPS and route planning software to optimize delivery schedules.
  • Familiarity with environmental regulations related to agricultural liquid transport.
  • Previous training or certification in agricultural safety or hazardous materials handling.
  • Ability to operate additional farm equipment or assist with other agricultural tasks as needed.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively coordinate with team members and supervisors.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate tender trucks to deliver water, fuel, and other liquids to designated agricultural and forestry sites safely and efficiently.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it meets all safety and maintenance standards.
  • Adhere to all agricultural safety regulations and standards to prevent contamination and ensure the safe handling of materials.
  • Coordinate with farm supervisors and equipment operators to schedule deliveries and respond to urgent supply needs.
  • Maintain accurate records of deliveries, fuel usage, and vehicle maintenance activities.
  • Monitor and report any mechanical issues or safety hazards encountered during operations.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local transportation and agricultural regulations.
