This role sits at the intersection of healthcare data, software engineering, and payment integrity, leading teams that build systems used to analyze massive volumes of clinical and financial information. The focus is on improving healthcare outcomes and financial performance by enabling insurance organizations to detect risk, optimize resource allocation, and strengthen payment accuracy. You will manage distributed engineering teams operating in an agile, SAFe-driven environment, ensuring alignment between architecture, delivery execution, and business objectives. This is a highly strategic leadership role where you will shape technical direction, guide long-term platform evolution, and ensure regulatory and security compliance in a complex healthcare ecosystem. Working across global teams, you will collaborate closely with product, business, and compliance stakeholders to deliver scalable, data-intensive solutions that directly impact healthcare efficiency and quality.
- Lead and develop software engineering teams responsible for building and enhancing healthcare payment integrity platforms, ensuring high-quality delivery and technical excellence.
- Define and execute long-term software architecture and engineering strategies aligned with business and performance objectives.
- Manage cross-functional stakeholders, including product, business, and compliance teams, to ensure alignment on priorities, delivery goals, and system requirements.
- Oversee agile delivery practices within a scaled agile framework, supporting release planning, execution, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Drive engineering operations, including resource allocation, cost optimization, and balancing internal and external development capabilities.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and security standards (including HIPAA), working closely with privacy and security teams to maintain system integrity and risk mitigation.
- Lead talent development efforts by hiring, mentoring, coaching, and retaining high-performing engineering teams while fostering a strong culture of accountability and innovation.
This position requires a strong engineering leader with deep technical expertise and proven experience managing software development teams in complex, data-driven environments. Candidates should bring both hands-on technical understanding and strategic leadership capability, particularly within healthcare, enterprise data, or platform engineering contexts.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
- 7+ years of experience in IT and software engineering environments, including leadership of development teams.
- 5+ years of experience managing engineering teams and leading software development projects.
- Strong technical background in object-oriented programming, with hands-on experience in Java Spring Boot and/or Python.
- Experience with data streaming technologies such as Kafka and exposure to ETL or data warehousing systems.
- Strong understanding of software architecture, system design, and scalable enterprise solutions.
- Experience working in Agile environments, ideally within a SAFe framework.
- Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop engineering talent in a fast-paced, distributed organization.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with the ability to operate across organizational boundaries.
- Familiarity with healthcare data systems or regulated environments is highly valued.
- Competitive base salary ranging from 130,000 USD to 165,000 USD per year
