Compensation: $30.41 (plus .50 for Bilingual Spanish)
Hours: 40 hours/week - Subject to normal school year furloughs

Overview of Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Health Services Coordinator provides technical and health coordination services in support of Head Start and Early Head Start (EHS) program health service goals and compliance with Head Start Performance Standards. The position assists with the development and maintenance of an effective and efficient health record keeping and reporting system, coordinates and provides child sensory screening services, monitors and supports follow-up on child health service and child classroom health plans, provides support to families in accessing health services, supports program food and nutrition services, and assists the Health Services Manager with staff training and collaboration with partnering agencies and program health consultants. This position manages and coordinates the application assister grant with the Oregon Health Authority (OHA) and supervises the Application Assister Specialist. This position reports to Head Start Health Services Manager.
Requirements:Required
- Associate’s degree required, with documented college course work (two or more classes) or in-service/CEU training (15 or more hours) in health and/or nutrition.
- At least 2 years of supervisory experience required
- One year of experience working with families with young children (work, volunteer, or college practicum/internship) required
- Within 6 months of hire, Level 3 CPR/1st Aid Instructor Certification.
- Must have an initial health examination, and a periodic re-examination (as recommended by health care provider) to ensure that employees do not because of communicable diseases, pose a significant risk to the health or safety of others, that cannot be eliminated or reduced by reasonable accommodation.
- Regular and consistent in-person attendance is required for this job.
- Required prior to date of hire and throughout employment:
- Valid driver’s license Add ok driving record
- Proof of current auto insurance. Must provide current liability insurance.
- Food Handler’s Card
- Regular access to a personal vehicle for use on the job.
- Access to reliable transportation.
- Satisfactory Motor Vehicle Records check
- Current enrollment in the OR Central Background Registry (CBR)
- Within 60 days of hire, Pediatric CPR/First Aid certification is required.
- Above certifications must be kept current to remain employed.
Preferred
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- At least two years of experience in early childhood or child health setting preferred
- Bi-lingual English/Spanish speaker preferred.
- Head Start parent or past parent preferred.
