Job Summary:
Performs assessment, diagnostic evaluation, crisis intervention, case management, and therapeutic services for individuals, families, and groups; coordinates with and provides education to support system and community agencies in relation to patient care, assists in staff orientation and training; assists in team supervision and provides feedback to assist in planning, development, and implementation of services for their program.
Core Competencies:
- Knowledge of various modes of psychotherapy and evidence-based practices, especially crisis intervention and short-term models using individual, group, and familial approaches.
- Skill in assessment procedures, diagnostic evaluation, therapeutic treatment, and case management practices including follow-up and closure.
- Ability to establish therapeutic alliance with clients and their families.
- Ability to work effectively on a multi-disciplinary team and with the public.
- Assesses and incorporates culture into assessment and treatment processes.
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
- Actively seek feedback and supervision, and engage in personal reflection and self-correction.
- Acknowledges impact of own feelings and cultural values on practice.
- Knowledge of ethical principles and state laws.
- Knowledge of and adheres to state reporting and regulatory guidelines.
- Maintains appropriate boundaries with patients.
- Assesses for trauma and engages in trauma informed practices.
- Formulates realistic, patient centered treatment goals and evaluate progress toward goals.
- Knowledge of developmental needs of population served.
Job Requirements:
Master's degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or a behavioral health related field.
- Current New Mexico license in the field of counseling, social work, psychology or marriage and family therapy.
- Must maintain a clean driving record, valid driver’s license, and current car insurance.
- Must be able to work a nontraditional schedule - Tuesday – Friday from 8am-6pm with hour lunch, and Saturday 8am-12pm.
