In-School Counselor - Penn Wood Ninth Grade Academy at Lakeside Youth Service – Yeadon, Pennsylvania

Lakeside Educational Network is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Counselor to join our In-School Counselor Program. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting students' mental and emotional well-being in the William Penn School District - Penn Wood 9th Grade Academy School, helping them to identify and manage issues that may impact on their educational experience. This is a 24 hour/week position.

The Ninth Grade Academy incorporates an instructional model that bridges the middle-level program and traditional high school model.

Key Responsibilities:

- Provide individual and group counseling to students to address mental and emotional challenges.

- Actively listen to students and ask insightful questions to help them understand their problems.

- Develop and implement strategies to assist students in improving their overall well-being and academic performance.

- Work with families to provide support and resources as needed.

Requirements:

- Master’s degree in counseling, psychology, social work or other related fields.

- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

- Ability to work collaboratively with students, families, and school staff.

- Experience in counseling or working with youth in an educational setting is preferred.

- Knowledge of mental health issues and community resources.

- Experience working within a school setting desired.
