Position Summary:The SPS Commerce Finance team is hiring a Finance Data & Analytics Intern to support FP&A initiatives focused on reporting, metrics, and data-driven insights. In this role, you’ll work with financial and operational data to improve visibility, accuracy, and how information is used to support decision-making across the organization.This internship is designed for students interested in analytics, reporting, and business insights. You’ll collaborate cross-functionally, contribute to real projects, and gain hands-on experience working with data in a growing SaaS organization.
What You’ll Learn and Do
•As a Finance Data & Analytics Intern, you’ll support the FP&A team by working with financial and operational data to improve reporting, visibility, and decision-making. Throughout the internship, you will:
•Support data validation efforts across global reporting, marketing initiatives, and book-of-business reporting
•Help build and enhance metrics and dashboards that bring performance data to life for Finance and leadership teams
•Assist in developing automated reporting and measurement tools, including HR and workforce-related metrics
•Work with large datasets to identify trends, inconsistencies, and opportunities for improvement
•Collaborate with Finance, HR, and other stakeholders to understand reporting needs and data definitions
•Present insights or project outcomes to Finance and SPS leadership

Required Qualifications
•Current enrollment in an accredited undergraduate or graduate program in Accounting, Finance, Business Analytics, Management Information Systems, or a related business field
•Experience using Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook
•Availability to work 40 hours per week during the internship
Preferred Qualifications
•Major or coursework in Business Analytics, Data Analytics, MIS, or a related field
•Students entering their final year of study (“rising seniors”)
•Interest in working with data, metrics, and reporting
•Experience with Excel and data analysis tools; exposure to Power BI is a plus
•Comfort working with datasets and attention to detail
Work Authorization
Candidates must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a permanent, unrestricted basis. The company does not sponsor employment visas for this role, now or in the future.
This role follows a hybrid work model, with regular in-office presence required at our Minneapolis, MN office.
