Development and Events Manager, Ryan House

Ryan House is Arizona's only nonprofit that provides respite, palliative and end-of-life care in a home-like setting for Arizona children facing life-threatening conditions. Established in 2004 with the House opening in March of 2010, the organization has quickly become a leader in pediatric palliative care, which addresses not only physical pain but also the emotional, spiritual and social needs of the child and family. Ryan House is operated in partnership with Hospice of the Valley, a national leader in hospice care that has been serving the Phoenix metropolitan area since 1977. Position Profile

The Ryan House Development and Events Manager is an integral part of the fundraising team at Ryan House, supporting campaigns and events, building corporate and community partnerships, and advancing marketing initiatives – including social media. The Ryan House Development and Events Manager also plans and executes all Ryan House signature events and oversees donor stewardship and cultivation to ensure budgetary targets and collective team goals. The Ryan House Development and Events Manager reports to the Executive Director.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the organization, implementation, and execution of all internal events, including but not limited to the Ryan House Open, Run for Ryan House, White Christmas, and other donor cultivation events.
  • Support Marketing Director with developing and implementing marketing strategy and campaigns.
  • Partner with Senior Development Manager with donor stewardship and cultivation strategy and implementation.
  • Maintains and enhances professional skills.
  • Adheres to high standards of personal and professional conduct.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business communication or similar degree preferred.
  • Minimum three years of experience in fundraising and events in a healthcare or similar setting.
  • Valid Arizona driver’s license, automobile insurance coverage and have access to an automobile.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated initiative, patience and flexibility. Ability to represent Ryan House well to external customers.
  • Public speaking and presentation skills.
  • Ability to make decisions based upon information provided from different sources.
  • Ability to work weekends and evenings as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a healthcare organization is highly desired.
