Job Summary
The Process Trainee is an entry-level development role responsible for supporting and learning manufacturing process operations at ecoat.us. This position is designed to develop future Process Supervisors and Process Managers through structured, hands-on training in e-coat and top coat operations, quality systems, safety requirements, and continuous improvement practices.
The Process Trainee works under close supervision and does not have independent decision-making authority.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist with daily e-coat and top coat process operations.
- Learn process flow, line parameters, chemical controls, and basic equipment functionality.
- Support data collection, process monitoring, and documentation activities.
- Assist with maintaining process records, logs, and reports.
- Participate in troubleshooting activities under supervision.
- Support process improvement and standardization initiatives.
- Assist with ISO 9001:2015 documentation and audit preparation.
- Follow all safety, environmental, and quality procedures.
- Collaborate with Quality, Maintenance, and Operations teams as assigned.
- Complete assigned training modules and demonstrate competency progression.
Training & Development
- Participate in a structured on-the-job training program (typically 3–6 months).
- Training progress and competency will be documented and evaluated.
- Advancement opportunities are based on demonstrated skills, performance, and business needs.
Qualifications
Education
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Chemistry, or a related field preferred.
- Equivalent manufacturing or technical experience may be considered.
Experience
- Entry-level position; prior manufacturing, lab, or technical exposure is a plus but not required.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Ability to learn technical processes and follow detailed instructions.
- Basic computer and documentation skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Good communication skills.
- Willingness to follow safety and quality standards at all times.
Physical & Work Environment Requirements
- Manufacturing environment with exposure to chemicals, noise, and industrial equipment.
- Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the facility for extended periods.
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Ability to lift up to [insert site-specific weight, e.g., 30 lbs] as required.
Authority & Decision-Making
- This role has no independent decision-making authority.
- All work is performed under the direction of a Process Supervisor or Process Manager.
