You will leverage your underwriting expertise and broker relationships to manage risk selection, renewals, and new business generation, ensuring profitable growth while maintaining high retention and customer satisfaction. The position requires strong collaboration with sales, data science, and risk services teams to continually refine underwriting processes and optimize product offerings. You will act as a subject matter expert on cyber insurance coverage, mentor colleagues, and contribute to shaping strategic initiatives for the business. This is a fast-paced, dynamic environment where your decisions directly impact client outcomes, team performance, and the growth of the business. The role offers high visibility, ownership, and the opportunity to influence the direction of the cyber insurance product in a rapidly expanding market.
Accountabilities:- Manage middle-market cyber insurance accounts with a focus on profitability, risk selection, and retention.
- Leverage and expand broker relationships to generate new business and maintain strong customer satisfaction.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, cyber risk services, and data science, to enhance underwriting processes and product offerings.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on cyber coverage, advising internal teams and brokers on complex policies.
- Maintain deep knowledge of the cyber insurance marketplace, emerging threats, and industry trends.
- Identify areas where unique capabilities provide a competitive advantage and implement processes to capitalize on them.
- Support team development through mentorship, collaboration, and knowledge sharing.
Requirements:
- Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum 5+ years of underwriting experience in Cyber/Tech E&O, focused on Middle Market businesses (over $250M in revenues).
- Proven ability to underwrite new and renewal business profitably while managing broker relationships effectively.
- Strong technical expertise and product knowledge specific to cyber insurance lines.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- Demonstrated teamwork, collaboration, and mentoring capabilities.
- Results-driven, with a desire to win and continuously improve underwriting performance.
- Familiarity with current cyber risk trends, marketplace dynamics, and evolving threats.
