Position Overview
Z.N.D. RESIDENTIAL, INC. (Z.N.D.) is seeking a Facility Manager (Evening Shift) to serve as the on-site leader and manager on duty during afternoon and evening program hours in a licensed Short-Term Residential Therapeutic Program (STRTP) serving Children and Non-Minor Dependents (NMD).
The Evening Facility Manager is responsible for direct supervision of staff and participants, behavioral management, program operations, and real-time decision-making to ensure safety, structure, and compliance with ILS 5 and Department of Social Services requirements.
This role is hands-on, authoritative, and operational. The Facility Manager is the primary lead during behavioral incidents and ensures smooth transition into evening and bedtime routines.
Schedule
- Wednesday – Sunday
- 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM
- Serves as manager on duty for the facility during assigned hours
Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesProgram Operations & Structure
- Oversee daily evening routines including meals, recreation, hygiene, and bedtime preparation
- Ensure completion of chores and participation in structured activities
- Maintain consistent program flow and smooth transitions between activities
Behavioral Supervision & Crisis Response
- Serve as the primary lead during behavioral incidents
- Direct behavioral responses using trauma-informed and CPI-approved techniques
- Provide real-time coaching, redirection, and guidance to DSP staff during crises
- Ensure incidents are managed safely, professionally, and within program protocol
Staff Supervision & Leadership
- Serve as the Facility Manager on duty for the evening shift
- Direct, support, and supervise DSP staff to maintain consistency and structure
- Conduct shift debriefs and ensure accurate handoff to overnight staff
- Address performance, safety, or conduct concerns immediately
Documentation & Communication
- Ensure completion of daily logs, T-Logs, incident reports, and communication logs
- Communicate critical updates to the Day Facility Manager prior to the next shift
- Escalate serious incidents to the Administrator as required
Safety & Compliance (ILS 5)
- Conduct shift-start safety checks, environmental rounds, and medication counts
- Ensure supervision ratios remain compliant with ILS 5 requirements
- Identify and report maintenance, safety, or staffing concerns immediately
- Uphold licensing standards, participant rights, and confidentiality
Chain of Command
- Serve as acting Facility Manager when the Day Facility Manager is unavailable
- Exercise appropriate authority during emergencies until relieved by Administration
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (ILS 5)
This position requires an individual at least 21 years of age with the following:
- Knowledge of the needs of Children and Non-Minor Dependents (NMD) in a residential setting
- Ability to enforce structure, rules, and behavioral limits consistently
- Strong leadership, decision-making, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to remain calm, regulated, and authoritative in high-stress situations
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook) for documentation and communication
Minimum / Desired Qualifications & Experience
To meet ILS 5 and Department of Social Services requirements, candidates must meet at least one of the following:
- Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) or Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree
- Completion of 12 semester units in Early Childhood Education, Adolescent Development, or Foster & Kinship Care Education and at least 100 hours of experience working with youth
- Completion of Year 1 and Year 2 of Direct Support Professional (DSP) training
- Valid Child Development Teaching Permit
- Valid Alcohol Counselor, Drug Counselor, or Alcohol and Drug Counselor Certificate with 100 hours of youth experience
- Valid vocational or trade credential with experience instructing youth and 100 hours of youth experience
- At least one year of prior employment or volunteer experience in a STRTP
- Other relevant experience approved by the Department of Social Services
Additional requirements:
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
- Ability to meet physical demands including standing, walking, and active supervision
- Valid driver’s license preferred (if transportation duties apply)

This role operates in a licensed residential therapeutic setting serving youth with complex behavioral and mental health needs. The Facility Manager must maintain authority, structure, and safety in a fast-paced, emotionally dynamic environment while ensuring full regulatory compliance.
