Job SummaryBrandSafway is seeking aCDL Driverto deliver and pick up scaffolding equipment to and from our customers. The successful candidate will make local deliveries andpickups,operatinga tractor trailer 75-80% of the day. When not out making deliveries and/orpickups, the candidate willbe responsible forassistingwith maintenance and organization of theyard and/or warehouse.
Key Responsibilities- Assist the E & D and warehouse personnel with moving and organizing equipment.
- Communicate effectively with customers, co-workers, operations,branchand other managers.
- Drive a pick-up, flat bed, truck tractor, or otherappropriate motorvehicle andto adhereto the applicable rules, polices and regulations ofBrandSafway, and any local,stateor Federal (US DOT/FMCSA) regulatory agency.
- Ensure applicable safety equipment andappropriate documentsare in the motor vehicle and are current/valid.
- Ensure that a motor vehicle is adequatelymaintainedfrom a general housekeeping perspective (i.e.truck bed and cab cleaned/free from clutter/debris).
- Keepaccuratetime records (i.e.logbooks/DOT Driver Time Sheets) as they relate to the day's activities, such as motor vehicle inspections, loading/unloading, driving, break periods, and other applicable non-driving work activities.
- Perform and document routine motor vehicle, cargo securement, and equipment inspections.
- Report safety and/or mechanical issues or damaged equipment concerns to a supervisor.
- Safely handle and transport company equipmentin a timely mannerto company jobsites, warehouses, and yards.
- Safelyoperateforklifts as applicable.
- Various other duties as assigned by your supervisor or other management (branch, operation, job site) personnel.
- Ability to read, write andspeak the English language sufficiently
- If applicable, successfully complete the company's forklift trainingprogram(s).
- Must be at least 21 years of age tooperatecommercial motor vehicles (CMV) with a single/combination gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) greater than10,000lbs.).
- Must be able toacquirea Federal DOT Medical Certificate, if applicable.
- Previousexperience in the construction industry is a plus.
- Requires a valid Class A driver's license (will consider recent driving schoolgrads)
- Requires the ability to present a clean professional image.
- Ability to pass a federal background check and obtain TWIC credential in addition to other federal job site access badges
