Your Role: As a Licensing Manager in the China Market Unit, you'll be instrumental in executing strategies for efficient management of Avanci’s patent licensing programs.

The role will work closely with leaders in the China Market Unit, including the Director of Licensing, the SVP, Licensing and the SVP/General Manager.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Identifies and evaluates new opportunities for patent licensing in China
2. Maintains effective communication and engagement with potential licensees/licensors in the market
3. Assists in the review of licensing contracts and agreements
4. Provides a comprehensive overview of company licensing solutions to prospective customers (licensees and licensors).
5. Partners with and supports other licensing team members in contract negotiations with potential customers (licensees and licensors).

WORK LOCATION: Shenzhen or Beijing

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

• General understanding of patent licensing and Intellectual Property (IP) fundamentals, financial analysis, and legal contracts
• Familiarity with high tech industries such as consumer electronics, mobile/smart phones and Internet of Things (IoT)
• Knowledge of the application of key and standards-based technologies such as cellular and Wi-Fi in everyday life
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and Chinese, and an ability to use the skills in effective communications with global team members and customers
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, including ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, and handle multiple projects
• Patient yet solutions-focused and outcome-oriented in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to maintain strict confidentiality in all company matters

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business or Legal/IP required
• Graduate degree, MBA or JD preferred

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

• 5+ years’ experience in patent / IP licensing or legal IP
