Job Summary
The Director of Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) is the strategic leader responsible for optimizing and managing all aspects of the revenue cycle, from patient intake and authorization management through claims submission, payment posting, and denial management. This role demands a proven background in healthcare administration and expertise in medical billing complexities across multiple therapeutic disciplines, including: ABA, Occupational Therapy (OT), Speech-Language Pathology (SLP), Psychology, and Social Work. The Director will leverage advanced systems skills, particularly with CentralReach, to drive efficiency and financial stability in a high-growth, mission-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
I. Leadership & RCM Strategy Ownership- Develop and execute the long-term RCM strategy to support organizational growth, new clinical service lines, and expansion across multiple payors (Medicaid and commercial insurance).
- Supervise, mentor, and lead the entire RCM team (Authorizations, Billing, Collections, and Payment Posting), fostering a culture of accuracy, ownership, and high performance.
- Serve as the key strategic liaison, collaborating closely with Clinical Operations, Finance, IT, and Compliance to ensure seamless integration between clinical documentation and medical billing processes.
- Oversee the full revenue cycle, ensuring accurate and compliant management of patient eligibility, service authorizations, claims submission, payment posting, and Accounts Receivable (AR) management.
- Lead proactive denial management, performing deep root-cause analysis on complex denials (coding, documentation) and implementing swift, permanent corrective action plans to reduce the denial rate.
- Monitor daily workflows to maintain accuracy of data entry, documentation, and coding in accordance with specific billing rules for ABA, OT, SLP, Psychology, and Social Work.
- Oversee Medicaid-specific processes, including authorization renewals and adherence to unique state billing regulations.
- Serve as the organizational expert for the practice management system. Mandatory proven, deep experience optimizing RCM workflows within CentralReach is highly preferred.
- Optimize RCM processes inside CentralReach, including service authorization configuration, claims batching, error scrubbing, payment posting, and advanced reporting.
- Establish, track, and report on key RCM metrics including Days Sales Outstanding (DSO), clean claim rate, and collections performance, presenting strategic outcomes to the CFO and Executive Team.
IV. Compliance & Audit Readiness
- Ensure continuous adherence to federal, state, and payor-specific regulations for pediatric behavioral health services.
- Work with Compliance and Clinical teams to ensure documentation accuracy that supports billing and reduces risk.
- Maintain audit readiness and oversee all responses to payor audits.
We are seeking a highly analytical and experienced leader who can blend financial rigor with a passion for supporting our clinical mission.
- The Experience: 5–7+ years of progressive RCM leadership experience, ideally within ABA, pediatrics, behavioral health, or other multi-disciplinary outpatient services. Mandatory deep expertise with CentralReach systems.
- The Skillset: Strong knowledge of Medicaid and commercial insurance billing rules across multiple clinical disciplines. Demonstrated record of improving key RCM performance indicators.
- The Scope: Proven experience managing RCM complexities (authorizations, billing, compliance) across multiple clinical disciplines: Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), Occupational Therapy (OT), Speech-Language Pathology (SLP), Psychology, and Social Work.
- The Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, Finance, or a related field strongly preferred.

The pay range for this role is:
85,000 - 140,000 USD per year(AB Spectrum Chesterfield Clinic)
