Since 2015, Nevada Behavioral Health Systems (NBH) has been providing mental health and substance abuse services to residents across Nevada. By collaborating with a diverse network of experienced behavioral healthcare providers, we have built a community-based care system that offers members personalized options tailored to their individual needs. In 2023, we rebranded as NovumHealth with the expansion of our services in Arizona, California, and Utah.

Position: Director of Clinical Operations
Location: Salt Lake City, Utah – Onsite (This role is not eligible for Remote or Hybrid)
Starting Salary Range: $110,000
The starting salary range for this role is a reasonable estimate, with a goal to pay a competitive market salary focusing near the median of our pay ranges. However, final offers for all positions will be based on several factors such as experience level, education and certification, skills, and internal pay equity.

What’s the role?
The Director of Operations is responsible for overseeing and managing the day-to-day administrative operations of the organization. This role plays a critical part in driving operational performance, oversees market‑level processes, and ensures alignment with NovumHealth’s standards, goals, and compliance requirements.

What you’ll need to start:
•Bachelor's degree in business administration, operations management, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
•Strong knowledge of operational principles, practices, and methodologies.
•Experience in developing and implementing operational strategies and process improvement initiatives.

What you’ll do:
•Lead market‑level day-to-day operations by developing and executing plans that support organizational goals while accounting for the unique needs, regulations, and growth opportunities within the Utah market.
•Optimize operational processes across all Utah locations, ensuring alignment with NovumHealth standards, efficient workflows, and scalable systems that improve productivity and reduce costs.
•Ensure operational teams effectively adopt and utilize technology platforms, including care coordination tools, reporting systems, or other necessary software.
•Establish mechanisms to collect and monitor market‑specific KPIs and operational metrics, analyze performance trends, and implement corrective actions that drive continuous improvement and operational excellence.
•Lead change‑management efforts during process updates, new program rollouts, or technology implementations.
•Drive service quality initiatives to ensure consistent, high‑quality member experience and timely access to behavioral health services.
•Implement risk‑management practices to proactively identify operational issues and reduce service disruptions.
•Support initiatives that improve member engagement and retention, especially for high‑need behavioral health populations.
•Build relationships with community organizations to expand behavioral health resources and support services.• Work closely with cross‑functional teams to ensure coordinated execution of initiatives that support market growth, customer satisfaction, and regional performance targets.
•Support health plan partners, provider groups, and other strategic partnerships across the Utah region to ensure coordinated, high‑quality delivery of behavioral health services for members to strengthen collaboration and maintain full compliance with organizational standards and regulatory requirements.
•Build, lead, and mentor a high‑performing Utah operations team, including hiring, onboarding, training, performance management, and leadership development to maintain a strong operational culture.
•Ensure full compliance with Utah state regulations, industry standards, safety requirements, and organizational policies related to operations, facility management, and workforce practices.
•Leverage data insights to identify operational gaps, inform market‑level planning, and support clinical and administrative teams.
•Oversee operational reporting, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and alignment with organizational reporting standards.
•Stay informed on Utah market trends, community needs, competitive dynamics, and demographic shifts to proactively identify operational opportunities and drive innovation.
•Support market expansion activities, including new site launches, service growth, or geographic scaling.
•Act as a strategic partner to senior leadership, providing operational insights, market intelligence, and recommendations that influence organization‑wide decision‑making and help shape long‑term regional strategy.

•Strong understanding of healthcare with emphasis on value based care.
•Knowledge of healthcare regulatory compliance requirements.
•Strategic thinking and ability to align operational activities with organizational goals.
•Continuous learning and staying updated with the latest trends and developments in operations management.

What will make you stand out:
•Previous experience in behavioral health or healthcare environments.
•Minimum of 2 years of experience in operations management or a related leadership role, with at least 1 year in a people management role.
•Strong knowledge of operational principles, practices, and methodologies.
•Experience in developing and implementing operational strategies and process improvement initiatives.
•Experience in healthcare or mental health is strongly preferred.
